Pebble Watch Bracket

Printed this Pebble Watch bracket on Thingiverse a few days ago, created a time lapse for the 3D print for this part. I have printed this 10 times with a success rate of 70%.


Still waiting for my Orange Pebble watch to arrive to try out my 3D printed bracket.

3D Printer: Replicator 2 Arrived

Had a busy evening last night, so I haven't even had time to tear into my new Replicator 2 Makerbot yet. My new 3D printer arrived yesterday afternoon, but I knew that I'd be busy all evening with no time to open it. Very anxious here at work today, the day will probably go by really slow. My goal is to hopefully have a couple test prints done tonight.

I ordered many different PLA colors including a glow-in-the-dark version. Hopefully the finish quality of the MakerBot Replicator 2 is up to my expectations, I will definitely know a lot more about 3D printing tonight at home. Wish be luck is setting up the 3D printer.

Impatiently Waiting For Makerbot Replicator 2

After ordering nearly 2 months ago, my new MakerBot Replicator 2 using PLA filament is nearly here. According to my tracking, my 3D Printer will be arriving tomorrow. Thingiverse has nearly 100,000 'things' that I can download to print, and I am also becoming more versed in Solidworks 2012. It will definitely be fun to print some of the already created items...but I am most looking forward to designing stuff myself.

Along with my order, I have included 10 different colors of PLA filament...I hope that I am not disappointed with the print quality with the 100-micron setting on my new MakerBot. I am hoping to print items with embedded items that I will be able to sell.

I will upload an unboxing video for my new MakerBot Replicator 2, along with a time lapse videos of sample prints. This blog will be used to share my experiences as I transition from a 3D printing newbie, into a 3D Printing Ninja.
